  • BIO

Master's graduate from Brussels and Madrid in both audiovisual journalism and film studies, Shannti is a Euro-Indian blend with fifteen years' experience as a video producer, production coordinator, TV presenter, and actor. She has been successively working in Asia, the Middle East & the South-West Indian Ocean region, where she currently operates.

Deeply fascinated by Asian cultures, she headed right after graduating to the Beijing Film Academy in 2003, with a scholarship and the intention to study Mandarin Chinese and performing arts. Once in China, she was swiftly hired for acting and production assignments. The frequency of these jobs and their level of responsibility rose in direct correlation to her improving Chinese language skills.

While riding the Dragon, she acted in several CCTV series and coordinated numerous European TV crews from Arte, TF1, France 2, Canal+, to name a few. She also managed public relations for the 2005 Dashanzi Art Festival, before spending three years working as a reporter for Luxe TV all over Asia Pacific.

The Chinese winter and her itching Indian roots then pushed her to Bombay where she started filming as a video producer for media such as BBC News and Arte, amongst others, while acting and enjoying the lovely mayhem of Indian cinema, yoga and spirituality.

Fluent in English, French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, comfortable with Dutch and Hindi, she lived eight years between the Indian magic and the Chinese gold rush, often traveling to South East Asia…

In 2011, she moved to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory where she worked as a video producer for television channels such as CNews and Qatar TV.

During those years as a freelance video reporter and production coordinator, she covered many topics, as diverse as the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, freedom of speech in Tibet, the Palestinian territories bid for UN membership and the 2014 Indian General Election.

After this brief comeback to India for a researcher assignment with the BBC News at the Delhi bureau, she finally settled in the stunning Reunion Island. She worked for two years as a Multimedia Journalist for the French scientific research centre Cirad. She then joined Blabla Prod for more than six years, chiefly as a Journalist, Director, and Presenter of the weekly TV program Loca'Terre broadcast on Réunion la 1ère & France Ô.

In 2023, she was blessed to train as a Deputy Assistant Director within the fabulous teams of the French police drama OPJ (season 5), produced by Terence Films for France Télévisions, where she also had a part.

As you are reading these lines, she is on Reunion Island busy writing this new chapter…

And even the sky isn’t the limit!
